Q. What is LimmudLA?
A. LimmudLA is a unique volunteer-run, nonprofit organization designed to build community, foster learning, and offer exciting, interactive programs for Jews of all shapes and sizes in the greater Los Angeles area, ranging from Jewish learning and discussions to performance arts to nature walks and singing.

Q. What is the origin of Limmud?
A. The first Limmud began approximately 25 years ago as an annual, volunteer-driven event in Nottingham, England. In recent years, Limmud's events have been recognized as a "best practice" of Jewish life and have spread across the global Jewish community. There are currently more than 40 Limmuds around the world, spanning 4 continents.

Q. What are the goals of LimmudLA?
A. LimmudLA values drive our mission and underscore our commitment to bring together Jews of all ages and affiliations living in the greater Los Angeles area. We believe in the richness of our diverse community and in creating cross-communal and cross-generational experiences. We aim to provide a wide variety of Jews with intellectual, spiritual, and emotional points of connection to Jewish life.

LimmudLA's year-round learning events bring together Jews of all ages and affiliations, recruit and train volunteers to create cross-denominational experiences for Jews living in Southern California, and create learning spaces where Jews can collaborate in building our Jewish future.

Q. Who funds LimmudLA?
A. LimmudLA, an independent Section 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, seeks funding from foundations, institutions and private donors who see the transformative potential of LimmudLA for the Jewish community of the greater Los Angeles area. We are grateful to our supporters and to our volunteers, who enable us to keep our overheard costs to a minimum.

Q. What is LimmudLA's position on environmental issues?
A. We have a strong environmental ethos and a commitment to preserve and protect our planet. We aim to minimize use of packaging and disposables and to promote the use of biodegradable or recyclable materials.
