We Want You!

LimmudLA is an all-volunteer organization. Every aspect of who we are and what we do depends on people like you stepping forward. Whether you have just one hour, or several hours every week, we have a place for you! See our volunteer page for descriptions and upcoming team meetings or contact our Volunteer Coordinator.

LimmudLA Conference 2010

From Friday February 12 through Monday February 15, 2010, more than 700 Jews gathered together to explore Jewish texts, arts, practice, culture, beliefs, and philosophy from traditional to progressive and everything in between.

Students, retirees, new moms, old dads, and every other labeled and non-labeled demographic group shared an extraordinary weekend learning in sessions, dancing to great music, and chatting about all things Jewish and LA with old and new friends.

2010 Conference Session Spotlight:

Aviva Richman
THE VAGINA MONOLOGUES MEET THE TALMUD
This workshop is a textual fusion: Eve Ensler's twentieth century script "The Vagina Monologues" crashes into a page of Talmud and we're left sorting out the debris. What can these two very different genres teach each other, and together, what do they teach us about ways to understand and express sexuality?
